RALLIES/PROCESSIONS:

  • Organisers, either political or religious or social or private, should apply well in advance, say  at least 7 days, to the Commissioners of Police on a plain paper duly affixing Rs. 2 court fee stamp and giving details of reasons for doing so, procession route, date time, number of persons likely to participate.
  • No loud speakers will be allowed to be used during the rallies/processions.
  • If the processions/rally route is confined to one Police Jurisdiction, such applications can be made to the jurisdictional by Commissioner of Police.

The following restrictions would be imposed on the organisers/participants.

  • Carrying swords, spears, sticks, bludgeaons, guns or any other lethal weapons.
  • Colleting or carrying or using stones and other missiles that are likely to endanger to public peace.
  • Exhibits or burning effigies.
  • Raising slogans or exhibiting placards or making gestures which may cause regional hatred or anyone to certain group of persons.
  • Obstructing free flow of traffic on the roads.
  • No loud speakers will be allowed to be used.
  • The processions should move to the left of the road so as to ensure free flow of traffic.
  • Uttering cries, singing objectionable songs, making speeches, music, exhibiting pictures, symbols or any other things which are against morality and decency or playing bjectionable music which are likely to create religious animosity or hatred between different communities or individuals etc.
  • Instructions given by the Police covering the processions/rallies to be followed scrupulously.

Public meetings/dharnas:

  • Organisation should apply in advances, say atleast 7 days, to the jurisdictional Dy Commissioners of Police on a plain paper duly affixing Rs. 2/- court fee stamp a challan fro Rs. 4/- per each box type of loud speakers (horn type not allowed) and giving details of date, time and venue.
  • The above mentioned regulators will also apply here.
