This is an exercise in optimizing human resources by introducing marginal material resource. Patrolling vehicles were inducted with no additional sanction of manpower. By redeploying the existing manpower, the police department could press into service 60 patrolling teams in three law and order zones of the city. The prominent features are:

• The patrolling teams have earmarked the justification



• The personnel have been specially trained in handling emergent situations on the road.



• They have been trained in good public relations and also in defensive tactics.



• The teams move with distinct uniform and identity.

The police presence is secured within five minutes after the occurrence of an incident thus instilling confidence in the minds of the general public.
