Awarded
to officers / men of the Police department who in their
services have risked their lives in extremist areas
and faced bravely hazards in dealing with rising militancy.
These awards will be monthly recurring grants of Rs.50/-
for life and a non recurring cash award of Rs.5000/-
ELIGIBILITY:
- The Annual Confidential Report (ACR) grading is
the main determining factor for awarding an IPM.
A grading of 8 very good for the past 10 years of
service including 2 Outstanding is considered very
good.
- Besides ACR grading, clearances from the IB (conducts
field enquiries) and CBI (conduct regular checks)
are very essential.
- Seniority is also considered though it is superseded
by the above two. If the competition is between
two officers of the same seniority then the officer
with better ACR grading will carry the grace of
the day.
- The revised proforma for medals requires concise
account of the career highlights of the officer.
It would be preferable to have instances of good
work done rather than a verbatim account of his
postings and transfers.
- The officer should have put in a minimum of 21
years of service in the police department.
